Winter
Snow falls slowly over the hill.
Scripture, prayer and seven little friends who walk you to sleep. Every night is read in my voice. It's free, and nobody's going to sell you anything at bedtime.
"The narration uses an AI version of my voice, made from my own recordings." Adam
Picture: Olive the dove stands on a moonlit hill by a still lake. Pip the firefly flies in with a tiny candle and lights the lantern beside her. The moon is tonight's real moon.
Most sleep apps give you rain sounds and a timer. I wanted somewhere you could bring your actual night. Each evening a friend meets you at the door and asks. Go ahead, pick one.
A prayer for a mind that keeps returning to today's worries.
real nights from the app. Tap Begin and you're two taps from asleep.
P.S. Look outside. The moon in the app is the real moon, worked out on your phone.
These are real nights from the app, with the words showing up as they're read, same as on your phone. Put your headphones in if you've got them.
"The narration uses an AI version of my voice, made from my own recordings." Adam
Press play when you're settled.
The quiet between the words is on purpose.
Every one rests on a passage of Scripture. Five minutes to half an hour. Search for whatever tonight is about.
Underneath any night, pick from 16 sleep sounds: rain, surf, music, soft noise and gentle tones. Mix up to three. Or turn them off and keep it to just the words.
That's Olive's job. Eighteen short nights, five to fifteen minutes. Fewer words, more quiet. No counting required. Shep does that part.
Picture: Shep the lamb watches three sheep leap one by one over a little hurdle across the starry sky. The last one curls up asleep.
Ask Selah for a chapter, or let her keep going until you're asleep. The words stay on screen as I read. It's the Berean Standard Bible, all 66 books.
Psalm 23
"The narration uses an AI version of my voice, made from my own recordings." Adam
iPhone, iPad, iPhone Duo and Android. Save a night to your phone first and it plays with no signal at all.
Tonight's night shows on the Lock Screen and in StandBy, with Pause and End. No unlocking, no bright screen.
A widget on your Home Screen. Or just say "Play again in FaithLabz Sleep."
Set a wake time and it rings as a real alarm. Yes, there's a "Ten more minutes" button.
Close it and the night keeps going on the outside screen.
Open it like a book and stand it up. You get a big bedside clock, your friend asleep, and one big Pause.
The picture on one side of the fold, the words on the other.
Lock Screen, widgets, Siri and the alarm are iPhone features.
Snow on the hill in January. Blossom in spring. Fireflies in July. Leaves coming down in the fall. Same friend, different night.
Snow falls slowly over the hill.
Blossom drifts past and lands on the step.
Fireflies blink over the water in July.
Leaves drift down over the hill.
Advent, Christmas Eve, Lent, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Year's Eve. And a few nights for days that hurt. They're there if you want them. The app will never push them on you.
For years I worked nights on a switchboard, a lot of them alone. I know how loud a quiet room can get.
My dad raised my sister and me. He had this way of putting a hand on my head, or on my back, and saying, "I'm here. I got you." I do the same thing with my kids now.
That's what I hope this app feels like. Somebody's there. Somebody kept the lamp on. And the words you fall asleep to are true.
It's free because people give. No ads. Nothing to sell you at bedtime. Just rest.
Onward, and God bless you.
