Picture: a hand-painted sea at sunrise in teal and ember, a lone figure standing on the cliffs. The painting assembles itself from puzzle pieces.

A day in the year

Every day, the table is set.

You don't have to figure out what to read or where to start. Pull up a chair. Here's how a day goes.

Grace days. Every seventh day is a short word and a psalm of rest. A missed morning never breaks the year.

The Today screen: Thursday, October 29. The whole Bible, in a year, read to you. Begin day one. Day 118: a word before we read on 2 Samuel 7 and 8, with play controls. A painting half built from puzzle pieces while the teaching plays. The finished painting with the day's verse from 2 Samuel 7 rising over it.
With your own hands

The painting waits for you.

Every day's painting stays veiled until you build it. In the app, a gentle 36 pieces or a patient 400. Try a small one here.

Tap a piece to set it in place.

The last piece settles. The painting blooms.

In the app, the day's verse rises just like that, and the wallpaper is yours to keep.

The finished painting: light breaking across dark water on the first day, in teal and ember.

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

      A note from me

I wanted to make one thing I could hand to anybody: the whole Bible, in order, in one year, in one voice. Not clips. Not a verse and a pep talk. The chapters, whole, nothing skipped.

Most of us have started a reading plan in January and lost it by February. So I set the table for you. Every morning there's a place to sit, a word about where we are, and the next chapters waiting.

The paintings are there so your hands have something to do while your heart listens. By December you'll have walked from the first light to the city with no night, and you'll have 365 pictures of the road.

It's free because people give. No ads. Nothing to buy. Just the Word.

      Onward, and God bless you.
